History:
Tom Feenan, CPCU founded ATA Insurance Agency, Inc. in 1973 out of a small storefront in Dorchester, MA. A few years earlier, Tom had founded American Tax Associates, preparing personal income taxes from January through April the old fashioned way. After building a significant client base over his first few years, he recognized a demand for affordable personal and commercial insurance among his clients.
Tom's sister Mary helped to get the insurance agency off the ground and they intuitively named it ATA after American Tax Associates. Mary ran the business for over 35 years. Her magnetic personality was the driving force behind the growth of the business, as clients brought in their insurance policies in droves simply because they enjoyed Mary's company. Since inception we have outgrown 3 offices, and currently serve the diverse insurance needs of over 3,000 Massachusetts individuals, families and businesses from our large office in Quincy. Tom still sets the example, working full time and overseeing the business. The insurance agency is run by general manager Mary Marquardt, licensed insurance producer Michael Feenan and a dedicated staff with an average of over 30 years of industry experience.
